ON NOVEMBER 20, 1942 THE ALASKA HIGHWAY
WAS COMPLETED AS A WARTIME EXPEDIENT.
TODAY, TWENTY-FIVE YEARS LATER, DURING THE
CENTENARIES OF CANADA AND THE STATE OF
ALASKA THIS PLAQUE COMMEMORATES THAT
EVENT AND HONORS THE BRAVE MEN WHOSE
[?] EFFORTS MADE THE HIGHWAY A
REALITY AND INDEED AN AVENUE TO THE
GLORIOUS FUTURE OF BOTH ALASKA AND THE
YUKON TERRITORY.
