Cette statue de sir Winston Churchill a été présentée aux citoyens d’Halifax par les principaux donateurs dont les noms inscrits sur la plaque. Sa Majesté la reine Elizabeth, Reine Mère, a soulevé la première pelletée de terre le 28 juin 1979.
