Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day. About 12,000 First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples have served Canada selflessly in uniform. We celebrate their unique heritage and diverse cultures. We commemorate their courage and contributions in times of conflict and during peace support missions. And we remember their sacrifices for our freedom. I ask all Canadians to join me in thanking Canada’s Indigenous Peoples for their bravery and for their service.
