Guest speakers

You can help youth learn about Canadian military history through the stories of the people who shaped it. Invite a Veteran or still-serving Canadian Armed Forces member to speak to your class, school or community group!

Check out these great speakers programs to connect with a Veteran in your community or virtually:

The Memory Project

The Memory Project Speakers Bureau

Arrange for a Veteran or Canadian Armed Forces member to share their story of service at your school or community event. The Memory Project, a program of Historica Canda, is a national, bilingual program. Speakers for all ages can be booked year round.

Canadian Peacekeeping Veterans Association

Contact a Canadian peacekeeper to arrange a videoconference with your classes during Veterans’ Week. Search speakers by name, mission or location.

National Veterans’ Week Speakers Program

Learn about the importance of remembrance from current Canadian Armed Forces members. This national, bilingual program accepts requests for speakers each fall. Videos are also available to enhance your Veterans’ Week activities.

You can also:

  • Contact the nearest branch of The Royal Canadian Legion to connect with local Veterans.
  • Reach out to a Veteran or current Canadian Armed Forces member in your school community. This could include parents or teachers who are Veterans or Canadian Armed Forces members.
  • Show a Veteran interview video. Our Heroes Remember collection offers a wide selection of interviews with Veterans from across Canada and representing many conflicts and missions.
