This memorial was placed in St. Paul's Cathedral to honour the memory of the members of the 33rd Battalion, CEF, who gave their lives in the First World War. 

The 33rd Battalion, CEF, was authorized on 7 November 1914 and recruited its personnel from the area of London ON. It embarked for Great Britain on 1 April 1916 and provided reinforcements for the Canadian Corps until 6 July 1916 at which time its remaining personnel were transferred to the 36th Battalion, CEF. The 33rd Battalion was officially disbanded on 17 July 1917 but is perpetuated by the Royal Canadian Regiment.
