The Alma Cenotaph, erected by the Alma Royal Canadian Legion on November 9, 1947, is dedicated to the citizens of Alma who fought and died during the two World Wars.

The work of the attacking soldiers was created by sculptor Louis Sorbonne of Quebec. The plate is made of aluminum, significant because several facilities related to the aluminum industry were built in the area to aid in the war effort.

The cenotaph was placed at the corner of Collard Street and Regional Road. In 1962, it was moved near the Town Hall (Alma city center). Then in 1978, a small park was created at the entrance to the Riverbend area and the cenotaph was moved there.
