This memorial, a Sherman tank, was dedicated as a memorial by the Department of National Defence through a ceremony involving Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, on 17 July 1967. It is dedicated to all of the men and women of Prince Edward Island who died in service during the Second World War.
