These plaques were unveiled in 1902 by the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec in the English version and, in 1987, a French version by the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada. This memorial commemorates the defeat, on that site, of American General Montgomery by the fifty brave men safeguarding Canada, 31 December 1775.
