The Windermere Avenue Methodist Church First World War Plaque was unveiled on September 12, 1920. Reverend (Major) Burne conducted the service which was largely attended by residents of the district. Windermere Avenue Methodist Church was founded in 1912. In 1925, it entered the United Church of Canada becoming Windermere Avenue United Church and in 2023 the congregation amalgamated with Runnymede United Church.
