On September 19, 1920, a bronze tablet honouring 19 Sherbourne Street Methodist Church parishioners who gave their lives in the First World War was unveiled by Sir Edward Kemp. It was later mounted in the vestibule where on either side was a flambeau, commemorating the immortal lines from Lieutenant-Colonel McCrae's poem In Flanders Fields.

Sherbourne Street United Church was established in 1925, formerly Methodist. The church amalgamated with Carlton United Church in 1959 to form Saint Luke's United Church.
