This window was erected by St. Columba's Anglican Church parishioners and dedicated in 1953 to Flight Lieutenant Richard Shaw Wood who was killed on March 17, 1918, in the First World War. The window was designed by Charles William Kelsey and depicts Christ's crucifixion on the tree of life.
Charles William Kelsey was born in England and emigrated to Montreal in 1922. His stained glass designs can be found in England, Australia, the United States and in over 68 churches in Canada. Charles was responsible for all steps in his windows design and painting. He worked out of a room in his home or a studio set apart from the house and his painted work was fired at Acme Glass. Since Canada did not manufacture stained glass until April 1976, during his career all the stained glass was imported.
In September 2013, St. Columba's Anglican Church sold its property at Hingston and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Avenues to a private corporation. The owner removed the 10 stained-glass windows from the church in December 2015. Two of the old stained glass windows are at the Canadian Centre for the Great War.
