The Glanbrook Township War Memorial was erected in 1998-2000 by the Glanbrook Township, fulfilling a commitment to the community to have a cenotaph dedicated to members of the community who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. It was designed by a committee of Veterans, citizens and Councillors. The memorial also honours the War of 1812, South African War, Peacekeepers and the fallen from the Commonwealth Air Training Base at Mount Hope.
The memorial is made from 24 tons of pink granite from a quarry in Havelock, Ontario (stone from the Canadian shield). The colour was to be a reminder of the sacrifice made by members of the community.
