Erected in 1919 by the village of Kelliher to honour the local war dead of the First World War, this memorial has been modified through the addition of two metal plaques. The first replaces the names inscribed on the cement base of the obelisk, which has seriously degraded because of weather conditions. The second plaque includes the names of the local war dead of the Second World War.
