This memorial was first unveiled on 10 September 1995 at Val-Bélair. It was dedicated to local veterans of the Korean War was erected by Mayor Claude Beaudoin, Mr. Aimé Michaud, Mr. Arthur Lortie and the members of Branch No. 22 of the Canadian Korean Veterans Association. On November 23, 2007, the memorial was moved to his present location. Members of Royal Canadian Legion 265 of Quebec city unveiled the grey Korean granite stele modified with the addition of a lower part made of Afghanistan pink granite on a concrete base.
