"C" range at Connaught Range and Primary Training Centre was named in honour of Major-General H.F.G. Letson, CB, CBE, MC, ED, CD (1896 - 1992). The request was approved on 30 June 1993. Colloquially it is known as Letson Range.

Maj-Gen H. Letson road is also named in his honour.

LETSON RANGE

Major-General HFG Letson
CB, CBE, MC, ED, CD, Ph.D., LL.D.
(1896 - 1992)

General Letson was a distinguished
Canadian soldier and marksman as
well as a keen supporter of
competitive rifle shooting. In his words:

"The (shooting) matches teach us
to shot straight and fair in peace,
and with deadly accuracy in war."

canadien distingué et un tireur
d`élite. Il fut également
amateur des concours de
tir à la carabine. Selon le général:

«Les concours (de tir) nous apprennent à tirer juste en temps
de paix, et avec une précision
meurtrière en temps de guerre.»
