The Mulmur War Memorial, also known as the Mansfield Cenotaph was dedicated on November 11, 1952, to the soldiers of the community who lost their lives in the Frist and Second World Wars and to those who served in the wars. A smaller plaque for Korea was added later.
The Mansfield Cenotaph was built by the Mansfield Women's Institute and restored in 2012 by its present members. It was made more accessible to the public by having it face the park. The original layout of the cairn had the plaques facing out towards Airport Road. The plaques were moved from cenotaph's front and placed on the back. A walkway was added that leads into the garden surrounding the cenotaph and to a bench placed in the garden to sit and reflect. A huge rock was added recognizing the service of Afghanistan Veterans and peacekeepers. The re-dedication ceremony, which included MP David Tilson, Councilor Earl Hawkins and members of the Mansfield Women's Institute, was held on November 9, 2012.
