The 126 foot high Middlesex Memorial Tower, a London landmark, was built in 1923. It was one of the first buildings to be constructed at Western University. The tower was erected in memory of the soldiers from Middlesex County who died in the First World War.

THIS TOWER, ERECTED IN 1923, WAS THE GIFT OF THE
PEOPLE OF THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX AS A MEMORIAL
TO THE MEN FROM THIS COUNTY WHO FELL IN DEFENCE
OF LIBERTY IN THE FIRST WORLD WAR. THE MEMORY
OF THEIR DEEDS AND SACRIFICES LIVES ON.
