Flying Officer Hryhory “Harry” Moroz enlisted and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was killed in action on 23 March 1944 during an air operation over Frankfurt, Germany.
Moroz Lake, situated south of Philfoster Lake and southwest of Hume Lake, was named in honour of Hryhory "Harry" Moroz in 1958. In 2003, Moroz Street was named in honour of Harry and his brother Michael.
