The Orono Memorial Cenotaph was constructed on November 18, 1922, in memory of the First World War veterans. It was built by P.E. Delanty of Cobourg, Ontario. The tablets were made by James Ardrion of Kendal, Ontario, and form the gates at the entrance to the cemetery.
