This memorial is dedicated to the brave men and women who belonged to the Sainte-Anne Division, 1939-45. It was erected by the Sainte-Anne Division. This memorial honours army, navy and air force veterans from the Point St. Charles area. It was unveiled on November 9, 1947, by councillor and MNA Frank Hanley. It took ten years to raise the money to build the monument. "We picked up pennies, nickels and dimes wherever we could," Hanley recalled. The memorial once had three bronze busts at its base representing the three branches of the armed forces, but they were destroyed by vandals in 1975.
