This plaque is dedicated to the memory of Private George Whitford, who died in Belgium on 19 October 1915 while serving with the 24th Canadian Infantry Battalion (Victoria Rifles), Canadian Expeditionary Force. The plaque was erected in the Olivet Baptist Church by the Whitford family.

In 2021, the Olivet Baptist Church was donated to the Sutton Volunteer Centre and the plaque was moved to the Legion in 2022.
