The community of Little Bona, which consisted of 25 people, erected a Great War monument in honour of Private Michael John White of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.

It had toppled over and was damaged, but the Royal Newfoundland Regiment out of CFB St. John's repaired it and, along with Wildlife Enforcement Officers, returned the memorial on June 15, 2015. A flagpole with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment flag was added in 2015.
