In 1922 the first monument was built on what is well known in Punnichy and District as the "Big Hill", and on September 24 a Public Memorial Park was dedicated and the monument unveiled. A second monument was built to replace the first in 1931. <>The third monument was erected at the end of Main Street in 1968, as the hill was becoming difficult for many to climb on the November 11 parade day. The monument is a large stone taken from the field of Henry Keep. H. Suttill did the masonry work.
