Researched by Nicole Patterson, Oshawa Public Libraries, 2008: Born in Oshawa and a resident all his life, he was employed by General Motors prior to his enlistment. A great hockey enthusiast, he received an education at North Simcoe Public School and O.C.V.I. Enlisting as an air gunner in September 1941, he received his training at Toronto and Jarvis before being posted overseas in March 1942. He was reported missing in action on September 18, 1944. He had one brother, Norman, who also served in the France, and seven first cousins serving in the armed forces.
