In 2006, the Royal Canadian Legion Colonel John McCrae Memorial Branch 234 requested on behalf of the Veterans that the Roll of Honour be moved from the former Memorial Gardens and placed as a stand-alone monument beside the existing cenotaph.

The Roll of Honour was erected by City of Guelph and first hung in the local legion to honour those who fought in the World Wars. Later names were added to honour those who fought in the Korean War.
