This memorial is dedicated to those who made the supreme sacrifice in the First and Second World Wars. Research has shown that it was constructed just prior to 1950. Plans for the construction of the memorial were mentioned in the February 27, 1947 edition of the Markham Econ's Sun, in an article titled "Township Veterans Receive Their Gifts".
