On November 9, 2021, Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, Ward 2 Councillor Lisa Kearns and Canadian Armed Forces Veteran Dan Lauzon unveiled the sign designating Veteran Square, the area around the Cenotaph to the north of City Hall. The decision to name the area Veteran Square was made by Burlington City Council on November 23, 2020, following a formal request from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 60, Burlington.
