The Veterans' Memorial Bridge was unveiled on 15 August 1987 in honour of Canadian veterans who served overseas during the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. A new sign for the bridge was unveiled on 4 June 2000 by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 24.
