Veterans’ Memorial Garden began in 2012 with the laying of the first foot stones. The garden includes 45 footstones with the names of men and women who served their country. Carveth Charitable Foundation and Legion Branch 92 purchased all the footstones from Leeder Monuments.
There were three stones placed in the garden of Veterans that lived at Carveth before the Veterans’ garden was built. Their families purchased these stones as they wished to have them placed here. Those names are: Neville Nalon, Godfrey Nalon and Thomas Campbell.
In 2017, the Veterans’ Memorial Garden at Carveth Care Centre expanded with the addition of a monument. The garden is built into the courtyard of the nursing home. The three foot high memorial stone was constructed by Leeder Monuments. The monument was erected in the garden and dedicated to Canadian Veterans who lived at Carveth Care Centre.
