During renovations to the library in the 1990s, the memorial fountain was broken beyond repair.
Veteran's Week was marked by the unveiling ceremony and presentation to the town by the Women's Institute of the handsome Memorial Fountain on the Public Library grounds. Mrs. J. L. Tolton, president of the Women's Institute, in a very neat speech, made the presentation, while Maj Herb Henderson replied on behalf of the soldiers and Mayor McNab accepted the generous gift on behalf of the town.
