This memorial is dedicated on May 11, 1949 to those who died in the First and Second World Wars. Mrs. S. E. Renault laid the first wreath in memory of all who fell on November 11, 1949. The memorial was built and donated in 1949 by the home building company of Langdon and Samson for the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 429, Wawa, Ontario. The records show that a note of thanks was passed on Mr. James Langdon and Mr. Jim Hazlet for the actual construction work.
