A new cenotaph to honour all who served was dedicated Sunday November 3 2019 at the Libro Community Centre in Millen Park.  The organization Woodslee Millen Group formed in 2012 with intentions to build a Memorial Veterans Cenotaph. The dedication ceremony was led by Padre Stan Fraser and aided by the Colour Guard RCNA, the Windsor Sea Cadets and the Belle River Girl Guides. New Essex MP Chris Lewis, Essex County Warden Gary McNamara and Lakeshore Mayor Tom Bain each spoke during the memorial ceremony, with Bain encouraging everyone to stop and talk with their local veterans when they see them. Wreaths were laid at the cenotaph by representatives from veterans groups, the town, county and province. Windsor’s Silver Cross Mother Theresa Charbonneau raised the Canadian flag. Donna Roubos, president of the Woodslee Millen Group thanked all of those involved in getting the cenotaph to Woodslee and said the opportunity to get the monument to Woodslee came along with the new community centre. The Libro Community Centre and Library is a 7,200 square foot community centre and library located in the community of Woodslee. It features a large community room, meeting room, large kitchen facilities and Library branch along with a large outdoor pavilion. Millen Centre Park is 9.1 acres with a 500m walking path, ball diamonds, play equipment, pavilion, spectator seating, and a library.
