On November 14, 1948, chimes were unveiled honouring St. Clair Methodist Church parishioners who served and parishioners who died in the First and Second World Wars. The church was founded in 1878 as Zion Methodist Church and renamed St. Clair Methodist Church in 1915. It entered the United Church of Canada as St. Clair United Church in 1925 and in 1966 amalgamated with St. Columba United to form St. Matthew's United Church.
