The plaques on this memorial were originally on the East side of the Westinghouse Electric Company building, located at 286 Sanford Avenue, Hamilton. The plaques were likely taken off the building when Westinghouse sold the property in the 80's (or earlier) and relocated to the Hamilton Cemetery.
Depicted on the First World War tablet are flags arrayed behind the Great Seal of Canada, maple leaves in the backgrounds for the years 1914 and 1918, torches on the top corners, Corinthian columns separating the panels, excerpts from John McCrae’s In Flanders Fields and Laurence Binyon’s For the Fallen, bas reliefs depicting Air Force, Army and Navy, and a beaver.
The Second World War Tablet has a Coat of Arms, maple leaves in the backgrounds for the years 1939 and 1945, world globes, two torches and bas reliefs depicting Air Force, Army and Navy.
