Baptized Albert-Odessa Aubry. Son of Moïse Aubry and Zéphirine Therrien. Husband of Alberta Provost (married in 1909), of Montréal; father of two children. He stated being born on 29 April when he enlisted.
Brother of Sergeant Armand Aubry, regimental number 61077, who fought in France with the 22nd Battalion in the First World War. He survived the conflict.
He served for six years with the 65th Regiment de Carabiniers Mont-Royal. Twice wounded in action, he took part in the Battle of Passchendaele, West Flanders, Méricourt, Liévin-Lens, Neuville-Vitasse and Amiens, all in Pas-de-Calais, France. He was killed in action on 10 August 1918 at Wiencourt-l'Équipée, between Vrély and Méharicourt, near Amiens.

The village of Caix is situated about 28 kilometres south-east of Amiens, midway between the N29, Amiens to St. Quentin road, and the D934, Amiens to Roye road. The CAIX BRITISH CEMETERY is south of the village. From the centre of the village on the main road, D28, in the direction of Beaucourt en Santerre, turn left at the D41 in the direction of Le Quesnel. About 200 metres along this road is the local communal cemetery and the first CWGC signpost will be found. Turn left just before the local cemetery and follow the side road where the CAIX BRITISH CEMETERY will be found on the right.
