Location:

COXYDE MILITARY CEMETERY is located 1 km beyond the village of Koksijde on the N396 towards De Panne. From Koksijde Dorp the N396 Houtsaegerlaan crosses the Zeelaan and at the same time changes its name to Robert Vandammestraat. The cemetery is about 1 Km along the Robert Vandammestraat N369, on the right-hand side.

  • Newspaper Clipping– Hugh Kington Llewelyn Statham was born in Cheddar, Somerset, England.  He enlisted with the First Canadian Contingent at Valcartier Camp, Quebec, in September 1914.  In honoured memory.
  • Photo of Hugh Kington Llewellyn Statham– 2nd Lt. Hugh Kington Llewellyn Statham, husband of Margaret Renee (nee Heneage) and father of Hugh Henry Llewellyn and Margaret Joan Statham.  At the time of his death his wife and children were residing on Thetis Island, BC with Major Alfred Rene Heneage (ret.)Following his death they made Canada their permanent home. He was the son of Rev. S.P.H Statham and Meta (nee Gill) who served as a Chaplain to the British armed forces and was also a noted historian who counted the History of Dover among his written historical works.
