The Kerrobert Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 88 built a new hall in 1966. At that time, the cenotaph was located in the park playground a couple of blocks away. Lots were traded with the town to acquire the adjacent lot to the new hall with plans to build a new cenotaph more elaborate than the old one.
Comrades Alex Gerlinsky, Mac McNichol and Ted Park got the ball rolling. The names of those who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars were inscribed on a plaque and mounted on a concrete monument.
