This memorial to Captain Royce Colman Dyer, DCM, MM and Bar, Croix de Guerre, a local soldier who died in North Russia on 13 December 1918 while serving with the Imperial Army, was erected by his grandmother, Mrs. F.A. Cutter.

SERVED IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM IN THE 8TH CANADIAN
INFANTRY BATT'N; WOUNDED THREE TIMES IN FRANCE;
SERVED IN VOLUNTEER ARMY IN RUSSIA FROM JUNE 1918;
RECEIVED COMMISSION IN IMPERIAL ARMY IN OCT. 1918
HE SAID "IF I FALL DO NOT MOURN FOR ME
I WILL ONLY HAVE DONE MY DUTY"
