This memorial was constructed in 1981 and dedicated on June 6, 1981. Its architect was Phillip Carter.

sixty years of service by our veterans in the
Washington Street Building, an in appreciation for their 
dedication to fostering a spirit of community service.

Dedicated to the men and women in Markham
who have provided great service and sacrifice
for their country during war and world conflict.
