The Vimy Ridge Memorial Wall was dedicated in November, 2000.  It has individual plaques for each soldier from this district who was lost in the battle. A smaller wall gives a brief history of the battle and acknowledges the generous sponsors of Project Flanders. Plaques used on Memorial Drive to assign a particular tree to a specific fallen soldier were taken out of storage and placed on the Vimy Ridge Memorial Wall. Plaques were also added to honour the Second World war.

The North Bay Cenotaph and North Bay Memorial Wall are also located here.

(center plaque/plaque centrale)
THIS TABLET COMMEMORATES THOSE IN THE SERVICE
OF THE CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY WHO
AT THE CALL OF KING AND COUNTRY LEFT ALL THAT
WAS DEAR TO THEM, ENDURED HARDSHIP, FACED DANGER
AND FINALLY PASSED OUT OF SIGHT OF MEN BY THE
PATH OF DUTY AND SELF SACRIFICE, GIVING UP THEIR
OWN LIVES THAT OTHERS MAY LIVE IN FREEDOM.
LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT
THAT THEIR NAMES NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

THE BATTLE OF VIMY RIDGE
APRIL 9, 1917

ALWAYS SEEKING THE ELUSIVE BREAKTHROUGH, THE ALLIES PLANNED A MASSIVE OFFENSIVE IN EARLY 1917.  THE CANADIAN CORPS WITH ALL FOUR OF ITS DIVISIONS WOULD DELIVER AN ATTACK AGAINST VIMY RIDGE.  THE RIDGE WAS THE KEY TO THE HINDENBURG LINE IN THE GERMAN DEFENCE SYSTEM.  THE VICTORY AT VIMY RIDGE CAME SWIFTLY.  IT DID NOT COME WITHOUT COST.  3,598 DEAD AND 10,602 CASUALTIES.  THIS VICTORY WAS THE PROFOUND TURNING POINT FOR THE ALLIES, AS A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE WAR WAS OVER.

TOUJOURS À LA RECHERCHE DE LA PERCÉE INSAISISSABLE, LES ALLIÉS ONT PLANIFIÉ UNE IMMENSE OFFENSIVE. TÔT EN 1917 LE CORPS CANADIEN AVEC SES QUATRE DIVISIONS A LANCÉ UNE ATTAQUE CONTRE LA CRÊTE DE VIMY. LA CRÊTE QUI ETAIT LA CLÉ DE LA LIGNE HINDENBURG
DU SYSTÈME DE DÉFENSE ALLEMAND. MÊME SI LA VICTOIRE À VIMY A ÉTÉ RAPIDE, ELLE A ÉTÉ COÛTEUSE AVEC 10 602 BLESSÉS DONT 3 598 MORTS. CETTE VICTOIRE A ÉTÉ UN IMPORTANT POINT CULMINANT POUR LES ALLIÉS, CAR UNE ANNÉE ET EMIE PLUS TARD, LA GUERRE A PRIT FIN
