The Albert County Memorial Windows were previously located in the Peck Memorial Hall. Fifty-three of the young men from Albert County homes were never to return. Commemorating these ‘boys’ (as they are always referred), are six stained glass windows. Each window, measuring 2.1m by 1m, represents an Albert County community: Hopewell, Harvey, Elgin, Alma, Coverdale and Hillsborough.

On November 30, 1921, the windows, draped in Union Jack flags, were assembled in the church across the street on dedication day. One by one, they were unveiled by the mother or wife of one of the fallen. Two veterans then carried the window, first to the church altar to be blessed, and then across the street to the new hall where it was mounted in the west wall of the building. Remembering the request of his only son, Mr. J. L. Peck, MLA, addressed the large gathering with the following, “This Hall will belong to you as much as to me and I hope it will always remind you of the great sacrifices our boys made overseas.”

In 2018, the windows were relocated to the Legion Hall.

This memorial is dedicated to the war dead of Kent County. Richibucto is the Shiretown of Kent County. The Legion was in the process of having a Cenotaph built but was short of funds. The County Councillors were attending a meeting, and the Legion served them a dinner. The President informed the councillors of their plans to erect a Cenotaph and of their shortage of funds. During the meeting session the next day, they voted unanimously in favour of providing the additional funds. That is why the main Remembrance Day ceremonies are held at the Richibucto Cenotaph. Funding for maintenance is provided by the Town of Richibucto.

"FREEDOM IS NEVER FREE" The Petitcodiac War Museum, a lasting tribute to the people who served their country in the First and Second World Wars, Korean Conflict and Present day Peace Keeping missions is located on the second floor of the Petitcodiac Legion. The items which include bayonets, uniforms and pictures from the First World War were gathered from families who want their loved ones Service Honoured. Since the official opening on November 11, 1998, the number of items and displays has grown to include First and Second World War medals, personal diaries, unit pictures, dog tags, intelligence maps (dated 25/09/1918.), discharge certificates, field telephones and sand from the Beach of Normandy. The members of the community take advantage of the Museum year round to learn about the history of the wars and local residents participation in them. A wall of honour depicting area Veterans places a personal touch to many of the items on display by allowing the visitor to see the man or woman who used a particular item. Several newspapers and magazines allow hands on experience of the events of the day, from local stories to the cost of a new 1943 vehicle. Over 2500 pieces of memorabilia with more being added, make for a pleasant and instructional visit. They hope the museum will be a learning experience for the youth of our communities.
