IN GRATEFUL TRIBUTE TO THE MEN OF THIS CONGREGATION WHO GAVE THEIR
LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR IN DEFENCE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS LIBERTY.
St. Paul's Presbyterian Church has memorial windows dedicated to the men from their congregation who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars.
On the west side is the memorial window for the 13 men of St. Paul's who died in the First World War. Ninety-three men from the congregation volunteered for service, out of a membership of 314. The window depicts the figure of a youthful soldier in medieval costume kneeling at the feet of the Angel, resting his sword, with head bent in reverence and humility in the presence of the Angel who holds the Crown of Life. It was presented by the Ladies' Aid and was dedicated in November, 1922.
On the east wall is the window in memory of the seven men who died in the Second World War.

TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND GRATEFUL TRIBUTE TO THE MEN OF THIS
CONGREGATION WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE WORLD WAR OF 1939 - 1945
ERECTED BY THE CONGREGATION
St. Paul's Presbyterian Church has memorial windows dedicated to the men from their congregation who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars.
On the east wall is the window in memory of the seven men who died in the Second World War. The window was created in 1965 by Robert McCausland Limited. St. Michael - the brilliant colouring of his raiment, this youthful celestial warrior clad in coat of mail, sworded and shielded, stands triumphant, symbolic of victory over evil. St. Michael, as Captain of the heavenly hosts, is generally accepted as the protector of Airmen.
On the west wall is the window in memory of the 13 men who died in the First World War.
This mural was designed and painted by Ruth Van Egmond. It depicts young children emerging from the old Union Grammar School, on to the Colborne High School (today, the municipal offices for Cramahe Township), into young adulthood and ultimately enlisting in Canadian uniforms to serve in war.
The Military Memorial Cairn is also located here.

"THEIR NAMES SHALL LIVE FOR EVERMORE"
Four memorial plaques recognize local citizens who served and gave their lives in various wars. The decorative wrought-iron work and gates include stone pillars at the entrance with round cement caps. The gates and entry into the park have been used by the community for decades. The property is owned by the Selkirk Baptist church. The gates were initially installed by the W.I.
In June 2018, renovations were announced to the gates in time for the upcoming Remembrance Day ceremonies. The anticipated budget is $23,500, to be shared equally through community fundraising, the county community partnership capital reserve, and ward 1 community vibrancy fund. The Selkirk Chamber of Commerce proposes to rehabilitate the stone pillars at the entrance, including brick pointing and brick replacement. The round cement caps, which have been vandalized in the past (rolled off the top of the pillar) will be replaced with granite ‘roof-style’ caps. Also to be restored or replaced are the four memorial plaques.

Jarvis Women's Institute erected the Jarvis and Walpole War Memorial which honours those who fell and served in the First and Second World Wars.
The father of Captain Allan Gray (killed in action 29 September 1918) erected a memorial window in Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Burford, Ontario which took as its theme the baptism of Jesus. It is the inscriptions, however, which affirm the unity between soldier and Christ: "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased" and "Behold the Lamb of God [that taketh away the sins of the world]." The window is at once personal and universal. It expresses the pride of a grieving parent as well as the faith that Captain Gray, like Jesus, died to atone for the sins of the world.
