The Fort Erie Cenotaphl is a large marble slab, engraved with the names of the dead, with a statue of a World War One soldier on top. It was installed by the Niagara Parks Commision in a park-like setting, overlooking Lake Erie and the start of the Niagara River. The city of Buffalo, New York sits across the lake. Only a few hundred metres away is the restored Fort Erie, the site of a several historic battles during the War of 1812.

This memorial, in memory of No. 6 Service Flying Training School, was erected in 1964 by former members of the school and the Ontario Ministry of Culture and Communications. Dunnville was home to No. 6 Service Flying Training School during the Second World War. This Harvard Mark II was the primary trainer for thousands of airmen headed to Britain.

Two separate plaques were later added to thank James A. Buchanan IV and Frank Scholfield, who were key to ensuring the contribution of Dunnville to the war effort is not forgotten.
