On December 3, 1955, an RCAF Bristol Aircraft was approaching the Canadian Airbase at Marville, France. Minutes before it was to land, it crashed on its approach, killing all on board. One of those killed was Flying Officer Peter Pigot. His parents lived at Cheadle in Cheshire and it was at the Cheadle-Gatley cemetery where Flying Officer Peter Pigot was buried in the family plot.
