infantry were all spreading out across. And we were there for
several days, there was a lot of shooting going on and banging.
And apparently, from what we could pick up, they'd placed
a pretty good machine gun nest right down the road and into
a very good position, to stop the whole advancement, and
it took a while to get them out and from what I understand, I got
up there later on, they sent snipers up. And they got close
enough there to whip some grenades in there to get them out.

Mr. Chrysler recalls various military activities during the first few weeks in Korea.
William Chrysler
William Chrysler was born on May 4, 1930 in Hamilton, Ontario. He vividly remembers the news reports of the events of the Second World War. As a teenager, he enlisted in the Canadian Militia with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. At the age of 20 years, he enlisted in the Canadian Army and was with the first group of volunteers sent to Korea in 1950.
