Interviewer: What happened after the war, was it difficult for you to return to civilian life? Well, there was some anxiety when I'd been running a flying unit and I got home and the most significant job I could do when I got home was fill the wood box. But I signed up to go back to school because I needed to have some better marks in some other subjects in order to get into university. So that got me pretty busy and then early in my up-grading program, I was at a university dance and, although not in university, they, campus was out at an airport in Saskatoon, and this gal picked me up on ladies choice dance and that kept me busy for some time, we've been married just over fifty-nine years.

Description

After returning to civilian life, Mr. Chase went back to school and then University where he met his wife of 59 years at a school dance.

Bryce Chase

Mr. Chase was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on June 6, 1923. He is the eldest son in a family of six children. He now resides in Calgary with his wife and family. Mr. Chase joined the service and became a pilot in the Air Force under the Wellington Bomber Command Squadron and he was responsible for carrying supplies and personnel in and out of Burma. He is presently a member of the Calgary chapter of the Burma Star Association. Mr. Chase returned to civilian life, enrolled in university, obtained his degree and now works in the field leadership and counselling in Adult Education.
