Community Engagement Partnership Fund Announcements

The Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Andrew Saxton, Member of Parliament for North Vancouver, today announced Government of Canada funding through Veterans Affairs Canada’s Community Engagement Partnership Fund. The North Vancouver Museum and Archives Commission will receive funding of $10,000, to assist with a project entitled Walter Draycott's Chronicle of the Great War. This online project will commemorate Canada’s participation in the Great War through narrated daily postings from the First World War diaries of Walter Draycott, a military photographer and topographer. The North Shore Candlelight Tribute Committee will receive funding of $2,500 in support of the 16th Annual North Shore Candlelight Tribute at the North Vancouver Cemetery. The moving display of remembrance featured the lighting of candles placed at the gravesites of more than 800 Veterans who have been laid to rest at the cemetery.
