Maple Leaves
Context
A Maple Leaf is worn on the undress ribbons to denote the level of membership in the Order of Canada, the second award of a decorations, the award or a theatre bar or to denote a second or subsequent bar to a general service award.
Eligibility and criteria
A Silver Maple Leaf is worn on undress ribbons to denote:
- The level of Member of the Order of Canada;
- A second award of the Medal of Bravery;
- Service in theatre of operations during the Gulf and Kuwait War or during the operation against terrorism in South-West Asia; and
- A second bar to the Special Service Medal.
A Gold Maple Leaf is Worn on undress ribbons to denote:
- The level of Officer of the Order of Canada;
- A second award of the Star of Military Valour;
- A second award of the Medal of Military Valour;
- A second award of the Star of Courage; and
- A third bar to the Special Service Medal.
A Red Maple Leaf is Worn on undress ribbons to denote:
- The level of Companion of the Order of Canada; and
- A fourth or subsequent bar to the Special Service Medal.
Description
The Maple Leafs are available in silver, gold or enamelled red with gold edges.
