Son of Avila and Emilia Desroches. A commemorative ceremony was held at Mussey-Sur-Marne, France on 8 and 9 May 1993, honouring the 50th anniversary of the crash of Wellington X-3763.

Mussey-sur-Marne is a village and commune 19 miles (30 kilometres) north of Chaumont, and 19 miles (32 kilometres) south-west of St. Dizier. The village is on the main road from Chaumont to St. Dizier. The nearest railway station (Paris-Chaumont line) is at Joinville 4 miles (7 kilometres) to the north, where public transport is available. The cemetery lies behind the church, on the north of the village; east of the entrance are the graves of two British and four Canadian airmen.
