Baptized Joseph-Ferdinand-Wilfrid Babin. Son of Fidèle Babin (deceased in the USA in 1912) and Virginie Bélanger (deceased in 1915), of Rimouski, Bas-St-Laurent, Québec.

Brother of Private Arthur Babin, 228th Battalion CEF, regimental number 2303846 replaced by 1007016, and 168th Battalion CEF, 2nd New Brunswick Forestry Company CEF, regimental number 48278, and Private Napoléon (Paul) Babin, regimental number 889507, 189th Battalion CEF. Both were discharged on medical grounds without having seen action.

He was killed in action on 1917-07-23 by a bullet to the head at Cité St-Pierre during the Battle of Lens (France) on Hill 70.

Location:

Aix-Noulette is a village in the Department of the Pas-de-Calais, about 13 kilometres south of Bethune on the main road to Arras. From Arras take the D937 towards Bethune. At Aix-Noulette, turn right at the church. The AIX-NOULETTE COMMUNAL CEMETERY and EXTENSION are a few hundred metres on the left side of the road to Bully-Grenay.
